AEW is set to debut Collision on June 17th, and pro wrestling fans will soon have to block off two hours every Saturday night to see everything Tony Khan’s company has to offer. Now we know one voice on that commentary team.

Jim Ross threw his cowboy hat in the ring for a commentary spot on AEW Collision. So far, he’s still apparently waiting for that call.

During What Happened When, Tony Schiavone opened up a bit about Collision. Schiavone also revealed that he will be a voice on the commentary team for Collision as well, doubling up his previous duties.

“I am going to be going to both shows [Dynamite and Collision]. I’m kind of looking forward to it. I think there was some more excitement built when we announced that CM Punk was returning, so I am pretty excited about it. I really am.”

CM Punk is returning during the June 17th debut episode of AEW Collision. This is an exciting idea for Tony Schiavone, as The United Center in Chicago, Illinois is a fantastic venue for pro wrestling.

“The United Center is a great venue; we’ve been there a number of times. It’s great to be able to see Punk come back, and the United Center has been a great venue for us. We had Forbidden Door there a year ago. We’ve got Forbidden Door coming up at the end of this month [May]. A lot of good things.”

We will have to see how AEW Collision does with pro wrestling fans. Their ticket sales haven’t been outstanding for any show other than their United Center debut on June 17th. Only time will tell if CM Punk’s return to the company amps things up for Tony Khan’s new show.

Saturday is a tough night of the week, because there is a lot of competition. AEW Collision will also collide with WWE premium live events on a frequent basis, and Warner Bros Discovery’s TNT Sports deal will also cause frequent preemptions.

Tony Schiavone will call the action on AEW Collision, as Tony Khan’s go-to announcer. Hopefully, he is also getting a nice pay boost to take on that extra travel and responsibility.
