AEW saw a lot of drama after All Out last year, because CM Punk had a lot to say. After berating AEW’s EVPs, Hangman Page, and Colt Cabana, a brawl took place in the locker room between The Elite, Punk and Ace Steel. Now, it appears that everyone is going to carry on with Collision.

We previously covered how Eric Bishcoff said he would have fired CM Punk. He had a lot more to say as well.

While speaking Ariel Helwani, Eric Bischoff unloaded a bit on Tony Khan. While discussing the current situation, he stated his belief that Tony Khan only sees AEW as a hobby.

“No. Nothing even remotely close to it. They have all the money in the world, which is a nice thing to have. Without vision and without true understanding of the industry, it’s just a really cool hobby. It’s just a really cool hobby, and that’s what #AEW is to Tony Khan. It’s a really really really well funded hobby. That we all get to watch and participate in on television, but if you look at the creative, and you look at some of the strategic decisions – look at the mess they have been in the last six months with CM Punk.”

“It’s ridiculous, and they bring CM Punk back one more time. I think that he won’t be good for the moral. He’s got a pattern that proves that. He’s fragile as hell. He’s not what people perceive him to be. He can not live up the to expectation. He’s not really that good. He’s not really that much of a draw.”

“He’s raised the revenues for the pay-per-views when he first got to AEW because he’s been off TV for a long time. He hadn’t been in the ring, wrestling ring, since he left WWE. I will give Phil Brooks some credit. He was able to keep that mystique intact. He didn’t over expose himself from the time he left WWE to the time he arrived in AEW and because he didn’t overexpose himself, he had a big impact when he first came in.”

“When he first came in, ratings went up, but three weeks later they went right back down to where they were before.”

Tony Khan is incredibly rich, and rich people have expensive hobbies. This “hobby” of Tony Khan’s certainly takes a lot of time, but rich people also have tons of time for their hobbies. Only time will tell if Tony Khan ever answers to Easy E’s remarks.

We will keep a close eye on AEW in the upcoming months. They have a lot of things going on with Collision, Forbidden Door, All In London, and All Out in the pipeline. Hopefully, Tony Khan can give his company the focus it needs to pull off those high-profile events.
