AEW will hold a big event in Wembley Stadium for All In London. Although the event might not be booked yet, there is a possibility that more than just AEW names will appear during the big show.
While speaking to Reuters, NJPW President Takami Ohbari opened up about a few different topics. One that really stuck with pro wrestling fans was his comments about working with AEW.
According to Takami Ohbari, he expressed willingness to allow New Japan talent to participate in AEW All In, taking place in London. Ohbari mentioned that NJPW would carefully consider any offers presented to them. Notably, an impressive 65,000 tickets have already been sold for the event scheduled at Wembley Stadium on August 27.
When asked about Tony Khan’s idea about companies working together in the wake of a WWE-UFC merger, the NJPW head honcho seemed to agree.
“It would be a huge benefit to AEW if there is participation from New Japan Pro Wrestling and some of their top stars in the event. In a world where the proposed merger happens, as it is suggested on paper, then I would believe the AEW, New Japan Pro Wrestling partnership is more imperative than ever before.”
Ohbari also commented to say, “It’s really mutually beneficial in terms of the global expansion for New Japan and also for AEW.”
We will have to see how this situation pans out with AEW and NJPW. It seems that the two might have other dealings with each other outside the Forbidden Door event.
NJPW will collide with AEW for the Forbidden Door event on June 25th. For more information on that event, and everything else in the pro wrestling world, stay tuned with us here at Ringside News.
