Chris Jericho has a laundry list of amazing matches to his credit, but he’s not down to take part in one possible match. It seems that The Wizard is not down to wrestle The Stinger.

There is a lot speculation surrounding Sting’s final opponent as he prepares to retire later this year. That match isn’t official, but it is very much in the rumor mill, and it seems that all directions are pointing that way.

Although Tony Khan expressed his desire for Sting to continue wrestling for an extended period, Sting himself has publicly announced his intention to hang up his boots in 2023. This has sparked discussions among fans about potential dream matches, with Sting vs. Chris Jericho being a notable one. The possibility of seeing them face off at events like All In London or All Out in Chicago has generated excitement on social media. However, Jericho recently responded to a fan on Twitter, stating that the match will never happen and that he is “Not interested.”

It is worth noting that Chris Jericho previously hinted at his interest in wrestling Sting. In a 2022 interview on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Jericho expressed his thoughts on a potential match against Sting, although his current stance seems to have changed.

“Whenever there’s a Sting-Jericho match which there has to be because Sting and I have never been in the ring together ever, except for when Keith Mitchell retired and we had that after-ceremony. Never been in the same ring ever. Ever, ever, ever. There has to be a Sting and Jericho match in whatever way we decide it and that would be a great time for ‘Painmaker’.”

We will have to see if things change, but it seems that we can cross this dream match off our list. Chris Jericho and Sting isn’t going to happen, because it just seems that Jericho isn’t interested.

What’s your take on this match not happening? Sound off in the comments!
