It has been over four years since AEW’s inception and the company continues to grow and expand in numerous ways. With AEW set to debut their new show called Collision next week, it appears that the company was blasted for their terrible strategy that has led to poor ticket sales.
AEW will hold the debut episode of Collision at the United Center in Chicago. It was officially announced that CM Punk will be teaming up with FTR and squaring off against Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe in the main event of the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17th.
While CM Punk’s return has helped boost ticket sales for the debut episode of AEW Collision, the subsequent shows in Canada are still performing poorly. The promotion is running shows in Toronto and Hamilton over the space of a week, as AEW Forbidden Door will be taking place the week after Collision’s debut.
While speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast, pro wrestling veteran Jim Cornette blasted AEW for their terrible strategy that has led to poor ticket sales for the upcoming episode of AEW Collision in Canada.
“Within a week, they are running the same town twice and they’re running a town 50 miles away. And how much money do they think these f**king people have? How much time do they think they have in their life? […] I haven’t seen anybody say, ‘What the f*** was this strategy about?'”
Quite a few top talent will be part of AEW Collision, including the likes of FTR, Thunder Rosa, Andrade El Idolo and more. Only time will tell whether AEW Collision’s debut will end up becoming a success.
