Thunder Rosa Admits CM Punk’s AEW Return Will Offend Some Fans

CM Punk is undoubtedly one of the most controversial and divisive names in the history of professional wrestling and fans know that all too well now. He will be returning next week on the debut episode of Collision and it appears that Thunder Rosa admitted that his return will offend some fans.

As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, it was officially announced that CM Punk will be teaming up with FTR and squaring off against Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe in the main event of the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17th.

This will mark CM Punk’s first AEW appearance since the All Out pay-per-view last year and while there are fans who are excited for it, others still feel his return will do more harm than good.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Thunder Rosa talked about CM Punk’s impending return to AEW television. La Mera Mera admitted that his return will offend some fans.

“It can go either way, you know? Because I think you can add a lot of fuel to the fire. I think he could go either way, babyface or heel. I feel like the fans, no matter what, some of them are extremely upset and like, offended that he’s coming back.”

Reports have also stated that AEW has taken measures to prevent talents from walking out because of Punk’s return. Regardless, it remains to be seen how CM Punk will fare in his return match.
