KENTA is one of the most well-known Japanese stars in the world right now. He joined WWE back in 2014, where he was known as Hideo Itami. Reports have suggested he might be CM Punk’s opponent at Forbidden Door and it appears KENTA demanded money from Tony Khan to make it happen.
CM Punk and KENTA are certainly no strangers to each other. CM Punk has openly credited KENTA for the idea of the GTS finisher as far back as 2012 as well. Despite this, KENTA still has beef with Punk and it is unlikely to end anytime soon.
KENTA recently stated that he will only face CM Punk for the right money and made it clear he will not settle for anything less than his worth. With the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view set to take place soon, fans have started speculating whether KENTA would compete at the event.
Sean Ross Sapp reported behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW is planning for KENTA to work the Forbidden Door II event, where he will likely square off against The Second City Saint. KENTA took to Twitter and reacted to this report, as he demanded Tony Khan pay him a lot of money to make the match a reality.
Oh hell no Tell Tony Khan GIVE ME THE BAG
CM Punk vs Kenta is a match that fans have been demanding for years now. We will have to wait and see whether Tony Khan will finally make the dream match happen on June 25th.
