NXT has seen a huge number of changes since the inception of NXT 2.0 back in September 2021. It eventually led to Shawn Michaels taking charge of the developmental brand and going back to the black and gold roots while retaining its focus on the next generation of WWE Superstars. Now it appears Nick Khan had some good things to say about NXT’s development.

Before its reboot in 2021, NXT was viewed as WWE’s third brand and treated with the same level of respect. Of course, that’s no longer the case as it now mostly serves as the training ground for eventual main roster call-ups.

Triple H himself previously referred to NXT as a developmental brand. While speaking at the J.P. Morgan 51st Annual Global Technology, Media and Communications Conference in Boston, WWE CEO Nick Khan stated WWE sees the potential of NXT being a third brand.

“We think NXT has the viability to be its own standalone brand instead of just being a developmental system – a third brand, if you will, where you can see cross-over from our superstars on Raw and SmackDown to NXT while our young talent develops there. Once we get all of that situated, then we will look at other nights of the week to develop new content as well.”

NXT will continue to grow in numerous ways and with the brand’s focus on its own Premium Live Events. With WWE bringing in more main roster talent to NXT lately, we’ll have to see how NXT will develop in the coming weeks.

What’s your view on what Nick Khan said? Do you think NXT will become a third brand? Let us know in the comments!
