Jay White signed with AEW after his tenure in NJPW came to an end. The former World Champion is now starting out in a new company, and a lot of eyes are on him. That being said, he seems to be a bit relaxed about the situation.

Ringside News exclusively reported that preliminary talks between WWE and Jay White, “and it never got past that stage.”

According to Sean Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, CM Punk was pitched the idea of working with Bullet Club Gold. That seemed to resonate with the Second City Savior.

Over the last several weeks, Bullet Club Gold has appeared with members Switchblade Jay White and Juice Robinson picking fights on-screen with various members of the AEW roster. As revealed on Fightful Select, CM Punk was pitched to be involved in a feud with the team upon the start of Collision.

We’d reported that a possibility for the initial main event Collision was FTR & CM Punk vs. Switchblade Jay White, Juice Robinson and Samoa Joe. Fightful has also heard that Bullet Club Gold will be getting new members “imminently,” but we haven’t learned that Samoa Joe is among them.

It was also noted that, “sources familiar with the situation have said that Switchblade Jay White has been ‘very laid back’ about his early creative, and that CM Punk had taken a liking to him and wanted to work with the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion.”

Jay White could have a very nice run ahead of him in AEW. He reportedly had some interest from WWE, but the decision was made to pass on him for some reason. It’s a good thing that Tony Khan’s company was around to snatch him up.

Jay White vs CM Punk could be a big marquee match. Only time will tell how CM Punk’s second run in AEW goes, because a lot of things have certainly changed since All Out last year, when we last saw him in the ring.
