Edge is still an active WWE Superstar, but he’s enjoying a little hiatus right now. The WWE Hall of Famer is set to make his return to the ring, and we might know his return date.
Edge is set to return to his hometown of Toronto this summer. ScotiaBank Arena in Toronto announced that Edge will be part of the SmackDown show taking place on August 18th, 2023.
JUST ANNOUNCED! The Rated-R Superstar Edge (@EdgeRatedR) will be live in Toronto for Friday Night Smackdown August 18!
The last time Edge competed in Toronto, he was victorious in a match against Damian Priest on the August 22nd, 2022 episode of Raw. After the show, Edge hinted that his final match could potentially go down when WWE returns to the city in the summer of 2023.
Toronto holds a special significance in Edge’s legendary career, with several notable moments occurring in the city. He successfully defended the Intercontinental Championship against Lance Storm on the September 3, 2001, episode of Raw, triumphed over Booker T at WrestleMania X8, and retained the IC title against Batista and Chris Jericho at SummerSlam 2004. Additionally, Edge headlined Unforgiven 2006 in a TLC match against John Cena and faced his long-time friend and partner Christian on the May 17, 2010, episode of Raw.
We will have to see what Edge does next, because his WWE Hall of Fame career isn’t over yet. Only time will tell if he has any surprises for fans.
