AEW fired Ace Steel when he was involved in the Brawl Out situation after All Out last year. Steel bit Kenny Omega and threw a chair at one of the Young Bucks, and he was let go while others were just suspended. Now, he is back, but he’s not going to be on the road.

Tony Khan confirmed during AEW Dynamite that CM Punk will be a part of the June 17th. Now, fans will just have to wait for that day to come, but there was a short time when it was thought that issues with bringing back Ace Steel would keep Punk from returning.

AEW actually re-hired Ace Steel a while ago. As we previously mentioned, Ace Steel was the sticking point with CM Punk, since AEW was willing to re-hire Steel, but he wasn’t allowed in the building for their television taping events. AEW has since denied that they re-hired Ace Steel.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the belied is that Ace Steel will only work on CM Punk’s segments and angles for AEW. He will also do this remotely.

The belief is Punk and Ace Steel will be heavily involved in the creative of the show. At least they will be for Punk’s stuff and the main angles and storyline on the show will revolve around him and obviously he’ll have great input into that.

Only time will tell how CM Punk’s next run in AEW turns out. Obviously, there is a lot to unpack in this situation, but he also has a lot of history as well.

CM Punk is used to being controversial, and he’s made a career off that very idea. Now, we are going to witness his 2nd try in AEW. Hopefully, fans see a better result, with a lot less drama.
