Gunther’s incredible performance in NXT UK was simply just the beginning of his career in WWE. Following a decent run on NXT after that, Gunther was called up to the main roster and has since become a bonafide star there. Now it appears that Gunther believes he should humble Logan Paul.
Logan Paul proved his mettle with matches against the likes of The Miz, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins over the past year or so. His stock only continued to increase with each performance, his last one being against Rollins at WrestleMania 39.
The Maverick has already signed a new contract with WWE and fans have started wondering when he will return to have another match against a top WWE Superstar in the future.
While speaking on My Love Letter to Wrestling with Mark Andrews, Gunther was asked about potential challengers, which included even the Paul brothers. When the hosts claimed that he should humble Logan Paul, Gunther readily agreed.
“Actually, in the Rumble, there was one moment where I was like, ‘When that guy comes in, I gotta jump him.’ But I didn’t know what would go down that whole time. So when he comes to the ring, does whatever, he stands there still for five seconds, it was like, ‘He’s not gonna do anything,’ so I just walked over.
[When told he should humble Logan Paul] Right? Come on.”
WWE already has a plan for Gunther’s next opponent as well. Regardless, only time will tell whether The Ring General and The Maverick square off against each other in a singles match.
