Tony Schiavone made his pro wrestling debut in 1983 for Jim Crockett Promotions as a member of the broadcast team. Despite taking a few years off from the business, he has had a lengthy career in the industry that continues to this day. Now it appears he revealed when his AEW contract will expire.
Tony Schiavone has been part of Tony Khan’s company since the very beginning as a commentator and occasional announcer. He is also part of the company’s talent relations department as AEW’s Senior Producer and Special Advisor to Talent since mid 2022.
There were also claims that he had earned a “lifetime contract” from Tony Khan. While speaking on the ‘What Happened When’ podcast, Schiavone shut down those claims. Schiavone added that his contract will expire in April next year.
That’s a f**king lie unless my life ends by April next year.
There is no guarantee that they’re going to re-sign me. That’s how I approach life: no guarantees. Klondike Bill told me one time, ‘The job is a day-to-day thing, Tony.’ That’s how I approach my life.”
Tony Schiavone is more than happy with his current run in AEW and it is likely he will stick with the company for many years to come. We will have to wait and see what’s next in store for the pro wrestling veteran.
