The Undertaker dedicated himself to entertaining fans through his performances. This commitment has earned him a legendary status, recognized for his numerous achievements. His contributions to the world of professional wrestling are unparalleled, with his influence felt in diverse areas. Now it appears he has a high opinion of Bret Hart.
The Deadman was a fixture of WWE television for over thirty years, and he continued to be a highlight of WWE television since the early 90s. He finally retired at Survivor Series 2020 and even got inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame last year.
While speaking to Manchester Evening News, The Undertaker talked about a match he had with Bret Hart in the U.K. that went over 40 minutes. Undertaker touched on how Bret pushed him to be more than just a character.
I remember having a match against Bret Hart and Bret in the states was a heel at the time, but everywhere else, he was still a face. We had a match in the U.K., it must have been 45 minutes and through the course of the match, one moment they’re going, ‘Lets go Bret’ and two minutes later it’s, ‘Lets go Taker.’ It was so cool to have that kind of energy, it was just off the charts. Probably one of my favorite matches of all time, it was really good. Bret pushed me to be more than a character. He pushed me into figuring out how to be the character and be a wrestler too. That’s something I’m really grateful to him for pushing me in that direction, because I don’t think I would have lasted as long as I did if I didn’t evolve.
The Undertaker also made it clear that he will never wear his iconic attire ever again. Regardless, The Phenom has a lot of things to keep himself busy and that is all that matters to him.
