The AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view took place on Sunday, May 28, emanating from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. While there are quite a few memorable moments from the show, that didn’t stop it from having a lot of empty seats. Now it appears Pat McAfee took a shot at AEW for this reason.
The AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view featured numerous worthwhile matches that fans certainly loved. The event featured a lot of surprises for fans, including Kris Statlander’s shocking return to dethrone Jade Cargill for the TBS Women’s Champion.
That wasn’t all as MJF retained his AEW World Championship in a stellar four-way match and more. However, there were quite a few empty seats at the show as AEW was struggling to sell tickets in the end.
A video of a fan watching NXT Battleground during AEW Double or Nothing went viral and this was not a good look for AEW either. While speaking on his Pat McAfee show, Pat McAfee took a shot at AEW for the empty seats at Double Or Nothing.
”Anytime you get a shot away from hard cam, you can really see a lot of things AEW found that out this weekend at one of their events. It’s like three quarters of the arena was completely empty, it’s like ‘Oh they don’t want that photo out there.”
Even NXT dropped a couple of shady references about Double or Nothing on this week’s episode as well. Regardless, AEW has certainly listened to all the criticism about Double Or Nothing and fans hope that they will do better from now on.
