Sofia Cromwell made her debut as a member of WWE’s new talent initiative, starting off in the NXT brand before being promoted to the main roster. She was repackaged as Maxxine Dupri, and quickly gained attention from fans. Dupri has now that her injury helped in her WWE main roster call up.

Cromwell made her debut on SmackDown back in July 2022 as Maxxine Dupri, Max Dupri’s storyline sister. Then Max Dupri decided to partner up with his sister in the stable. However, that was short-lived after Max left the group and returned to being LA Knight.

She was currently the manager of Mån.sôör and Ma.çé, as well as the Director of Talent for Maximum Male Models. While initially being seen as a failure, fans have finally warmed up to them.

While speaking on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast, Maxxine Dupri revealed how suffering a fractured fibula actually helped her out in the long run as it helped in her WWE main roster call up.

I signed in October 2021 and then I went up in July (2022). I was only on TV for a month or two. I fractured my fibula. That happened in May or June. In hindsight, I think that was a really big blessing because I wasn’t doing much in NXT because I was injured. When they were looking at who was going to be Maxxine, that ended up being a positive and allowed me heal.

I was in NXT working with Von (Wagner) and (Robert) Stone, which was amazing and so much fun. I obviously wasn’t doing very much because Stone was managing Von, and I was with him, and I would get a few lines, but it was still ‘she’s new, let’s dip our toes in it.’ They started advertising this new character Maxxine was going to join Maximum Male Models. They promoted it for like three weeks, and I didn’t know that whole time, I had no idea.

Maxxine Dupri recently aligned herself with Alpha Academy and fans are enjoying her current partnership with them. We’ll have to see how they will be booked in the coming weeks.
