Will Ospreay is hailed as one of the top pro wrestlers in the business right now and there are numerous reasons for that. Ospreay has won numerous titles all over the world and especially made a name for himself in NJPW. That said, there are still quite a few high-profile matches that he has yet to take part in and that includes CM Punk. Now it appears Ospreay has hinted at facing Punk in AEW.
Will Ospreay is no stranger to AEW, as he has been part of the company for a while now. After all, Will Ospreay has competed in top matches in AEW, especially during the Forbidden Door event last year.
As for CM Punk, he has been absent since All Out last year and fans wondered if he would ever come back. It was then reported that The Second City Saint will be returning to AEW programming as the main attraction for their new show AEW Collision.
While speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Will Ospreay was asked about squaring off against CM Punk in the future. Ospreay made it clear that he hopes the match will happen and hinted at it happening in the future.
“I have no idea what’s going on but I’m all about business and hopefully that’s something can work out. Now it is quite open, especially with the relationship there that AEW have with New Japan, it’s so different to how it was in 2020.”
Will Ospreay also doesn’t care if he never competes at WrestleMania. We will have to wait and see whether Ospreay and Punk will duke it out in the future, as it is a true dream match for many.
