WWE’s NXT brand ran Battleground at the same time as AEW Double or Nothing. That being said, the company’s developmental brand certainly gave fans a reason to tune in.

According to a report from PW Insider, WWE’s NXT crew is returning to Orlando, Florida this morning. Nobody who was at the Battleground special is slated to be at RAW in Albany.
It was also noted that NXT officials were very happy about how things turned out in Lowell, MASS. In the end, Battleground is considered a “milestone” event.
NXT officials were absolutely thrilled with the show last night, with some feeling it was the best NXT “milestone” event in some time. One source we spoke to felt it was “worlds ahead” of their Wrestlemania weekend broadcast.
There was no post-Battleground media call with Shawn Michaels last night, partially because so much of the company’s PR side was involving with Night of Champions and would have been returning from Saudi Arabia the same day.
Jakara Jackson was on the show, and that marked her television debut. The 28-year-old talent is originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was also recruited to the company from the fitness world. Although she’s been on NXT Level Up in the past, this marked her first big debut on the NXT stage.
WWE NXT Battleground was a big show, and plenty of newsworthy events went down. Now, we are looking at the future, and there are plenty of Superstars champing at the bit, ready for Shawn Michaels to put them in one of those treasured television slots.
