CM Punk and AEW had a ton of drama, and his hiatus from the company has stretched over a year at this point. Now, we are on the verge of another run for Punk, but he wasn’t seen at the company’s last pay-per-view event.

AEW actually re-hired Ace Steel a while ago. As we previously mentioned, Ace Steel was the sticking point with CM Punk, since AEW was willing to re-hire Steel, but he wasn’t allowed in the building for their television taping events. AEW has since denied that they re-hired Ace Steel.
PW Insider reports that CM Punk was not backstage during AEW Double or Nothing. That being said, everything is still in order for his Collision return.
CM Punk was not backstage at Double or Nothing. We are told that everything in regard to his return has been resolved and he is expected to be there for the Collision premiere on 6/17 in Chicago.
CM Punk caused a lot of attention when he was not involved in AEW Collision’s big announcement during the AEW Collision reveal at the Warner Bros Discovery Upfront presentations. WBD later denied that Punk was affiliated with the show, but that is not the case anymore.
AEW and CM Punk have seemed to work things out. They can’t talk about Brawl Out, ever, but Punk will apparently make his return to AEW for another run. Only time will tell if this second run will be less drama-filled for the Second City Savior.
