After their appearances at WWE Night of Champions, Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch etched their names into WWE history with a notable achievement. Rollins won the opening contest to become the new World Heavyweight Champion, which was followed by Becky Lynch’s match against Trish Stratus.
Seth Rollins squared off against AJ Styles, delivering an action-packed showdown. After hitting a Pedigree and a Stomp on Styles, Rollins won the World Heavyweight Championship.
Meanwhile, Becky Lynch showcased her skills in a match against WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Despite putting up a valiant effort, Lynch fell short when Zoey Stark interfered in the match.
A fan on Twitter pointed out that with Seth Rollins winning the World Heavyweight Championship and Becky Lynch previously becoming the first-ever SmackDown Women’s Champion during the brand split in 2016, the couple now holds the distinction of being the first in WWE history to both capture inaugural championships for specific titles.
It’s worth noting that while the World Heavyweight Championship had a history in WWE, the company has updated its website, classifying the previous version of the title as retired. This signifies that Rollins is the first to hold the current incarnation of the World Heavyweight Championship, establishing a fresh lineage for the belt.
We will have to see what Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch do next. Obviously, they are on top of WWE, and that’s not likely to change any time soon. For more updates on this story, and everything else in the pro wrestling world, stay tuned with us here at Ringside News.
