We previously reported that WWE plans to open Night of Champions with Seth Rollins vs AJ Styles for the World Heavyweight Champions. This was a bit of a surprise for some fans, because that big match was considered by some as a possible closer.
A new report out says that, “Styles/Rollins was set to main event with Lesnar and Cody opening, but due to filming commitments for Rollins this got changed round.” We can confirm that is not the case.
WWE was well aware of Seth Rollins’ Captain America filming. They booked the Visionary in the opening match against AJ Styles for the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and that will give Rollins plenty of time to make it back to the United States.
There is nothing wrong between WWE and Seth Rollins. The company is 100% behind this project, and they are incredibly excited for him as well.
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE is thrilled about Seth Rollins’ role on Captain America: New World Order. We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that there is no hesitation at all in putting Seth Rollins into “any role being discussed” for him. There is no truth to the report that anyone is hesitant to put any sort of responsibility on Rollins.
Although Seth Rollins’ part in Captain America: New World Order has not been revealed, he apparently landed a nice role. Only time will tell if this opens the door for other projects.
We will have total coverage for WWE Night of Champions right here at Ringside News. WWE Night of Champions should be a historic event.
