WWE has a lot of plans for the future, including expanding across the globe. NXT Europe is coming, and they’ve been working on it for a while. That being said, fans haven’t seen anything from that yet.
During the NXT Battleground conference call, Shawn Michaels was asked about the current status of NXT Europe. HBK made it clear that he’s ready to go for NXT Europe, but they’re still waiting for everything with the UFC merger to “shake out.”
PW Insider reported notes from the media call. Right now, Shawn Micahels is focusing on his daily duties, and NXT Europe will happen when it’s ready.
Shawn was asked about NXT Europe’s timeframe. Michaels said he’s ready to go. He has nothing to add and it’s very prudent from a company standpoint to wait for “everything” (Endeavor) to shake out. He is excited about everything but is focused on NXT. He has a show Sunday and another on Tuesday. He’s just focusing on the daily and weekly schedule at this point.
NXT UK had a lot of amazing talent, but a number of them have migrated to NXT. Blair Davenport hasn’t made the jump yet, so her name could be a standout on NXT Europe when the brand finally comes around.
We will keep our eyes peeled for more information about NXT Europe. As of right now, we will probably have to wait until the new TKO Holdings Group is fully in operation before NXT Europe can start.
