WWE has several title belts in the company, but some fans would like to see more. The women’s division on each WWE roster only has one singles title belt, and they have Women’s Tag Team Titles floating around as well. That being said, a secondary women’s title is also an eventual possibility.

WWE fans have called for a Women’s IC Title belt, or something equivalent. Dana Brooke even once pitched to turn the 24/7 Title into that championship, but WWE hasn’t pulled the trigger on that idea yet.
During the NXT Battleground press conference, Shawn Michaels was asked about the possibility of adding another women’s title to NXT. This is something that he’s thought about in the past, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Shawn Michaels went on to elaborate, thanks to the notes provided by PW Insider, that the WWE NXT women’s division is very young, so they really don’t need that extra title right now after losing so many veterans.
When asked about the possibility of a secondary women’s title, Michaels revealed that he has occasionally toyed with the idea but feels that they already provide the women with significant storylines. Their focus is on developing individual talents. With the loss of many veterans and leaders due to the Draft, the current NXT locker room is quite young. Although he would like to introduce a secondary title, Shawn wants to thoroughly vet the concept first. He is not yet comfortable with what it would entail and whether the young talents would be prepared for such a role. He is not ready to implement it at this time.
WWE fans really care about the women’s division, and some of them will flood Twitter with hashtags demanding to give someone a chance on a frequent basis. Only time will tell if they start demanding a secondary women’s title, but this is something that Shawn Michaels has already thought about.
We will have to see if WWE ever introduces another singles title for the women. Odds are, if it happens, that will go down on the main roster first.
