CM Punk blasted Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks during the post-AEW All Out media scrum. After that, a brawl took place between The Elite, CM Punk and Ace Steel, which ended up changing the course of AEW for good. Steel was fired after this incident but now it appears that he signed a new deal with the company.
As previously reported, Ace Steel was fired from AEW following the brawl. In fact, it was also reported that Ace Steel was bummed about all the backstage drama in AEW. That said, his departure was not a permanent one.
During the announcement of AEW Collision, many expected CM Punk to be a huge part of it. However, Punk was absent for the entire duration. This was due to a disagreement regarding the return of Ace Steel and led to a lot of issues between AEW and CM Punk.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Ace Steel has signed a new deal with AEW. It was added that he will be working from home as part of the deal. It was further reported that Steel has been under a deal for “many weeks.”
CM Punk will also be returning to AEW television during the debut episode of AEW Collision next month in Chicago. We will have to wait and see whether CM Punk will manage to avoid any drama this time around.
