Seth “Freakin” Rollins is heavily favored to become the first-ever holder of WWE’s new World Heavyweight Championship, according to the latest betting odds. Rollins is expected to defeat AJ Styles at Night of Champions, making him the frontrunner for the prestigious title.
As of Wednesday, Rollins has -1500 odds to emerge victorious in the main event match against Styles, who is considered the clear underdog with +600 odds, as per BetOnline. Rollins has seen a resurgence in support from the WWE Universe in recent months and represents WWE RAW, the brand where the new championship will be based.
Styles, on the other hand, represents WWE SmackDown and is a ten-time world champion in his own right. Since his debut in 2016, Styles has held the WWE Championship twice and has achieved Grand Slam champion status.
The World Heavyweight Championship Tournament began earlier this month, featuring four triple threat matches on episodes of RAW and SmackDown. The winners of these matches, Rollins and Finn Balor, as well as Styles and Bobby Lashley, progressed to one-on-one matches to determine the final two competitors.
The tournament’s culmination will take place at WWE’s Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia this weekend. Upon announcing the title, Triple H stated, “This will be a champion you can be proud of, respect, and admire. This will be a champion who will defend the championship anywhere, any place, any time, all over the world.”
Fans eagerly await the historic crowning of the first-ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
