AEW and CM Punk had another dose of drama, but that’s par for the course at this point with the Second City Savior. Punk was not included in their big Collision announcement at the Warner Bros Discovery upfronts, and everyone was up in arms about it. Now, we have an update.
It seems that reports of CM Punk’s latest issues with AEW were blown out of proportion. The latest update we have is that AEW and CM Punk have worked things out and he will be a part of Collision when the Saturday show starts in June.
PW Insider reported that CM Punk will be a part of Collision in June. It is also not likely that AEW will confirm anything tonight, but Tony Khan will announce that the Collision debut will take place in Chicago.
AEW will announce the premiere episode of AEW Collision will emanate from The United Center in Chicago tonight.
CM Punk will be appearing on the show in June, we are told, but likely will not be announced as doing so tonight.
In regard to rumors and reports that there were issues between the two sides this week, we are told those were greatly overblown.
The two sides had been speaking regularly since the blow-up that led to Punk being pulled from the initial Collision announcement last week.
It was also noted that, “as of this writing, we are told that both sides expect Punk back to work the Collision premiere.” Now, fans will have to wait and see how this will play out.
Fans should also expect CM Punk to feud with Samoa Joe upon Collision’s start. That should be a nice way for longtime fans to re-live some ROH history on AEW television. Keep checking with Ringside News as we continue monitoring this ongoing situation.
