There are a ton of people that became huge fans of the ‘Dark Side Of The Ring’ series by Vice Media, which would expose the ugly underbelly of pro wrestling and reveal a lot of unknown details about a particular wrestler or organization. After Vice filed for bankruptcy, fans wondered whether the series was in jeopardy as well. Now it appears that the series will not be affected by the bankruptcy.
As previously reported, the Vice media group, which includes Vice TV, was set to file for bankruptcy. This was largely due to the fact that the company was simply having a hard time finding a buyer.
Vice officially filed for bankruptcy on May 15th, as the filing was done in order to make a potential sale of Vice Media worth $225 million easier. Even then, many fans were concerned about Dark Side Of The Ring’s future.
While speaking to Julian Cannon of Knockturnal, Dark Side Of The Ring co-creator Evan Husney was asked if Vice filing for bankruptcy will have any impact on Dark Side Of The Ring. Husney made it clear that it will have no effect on the show’s future.
All indications that I have been briefed and told that this basically changes nothing for Dark Side of the Ring and for the health of the show. And for the show airing and all that stuff, everything’s on track and everything is just like it would have been in any other circumstance. So everything is business as usual.
Dark Side of the Ring season four will premiere on Tuesday, May 30 with an episode focusing on Tammy Sytch and Chris Candido. Regardless, fans are certainly glad to know that the future of the show is not uncertain anymore.
