AJ Styles has been considered one of the best pro wrestlers by both fans and his peers alike. The Phenomenal One always competes at a very high level and despite his age, Styles has barely slowed down. That is exactly why AJ Styles recently stated that he will be okay once he retires for good.

AJ Styles suffered a genuine ankle injury while performing at a WWE live event in Hershey, Pennsylvania. AJ Styles himself would confirm the injury, which put him on the shelf for a few months.

AJ Styles has been wrestling for 25 years in a career that has seen him compete in WCW, TNA, NJPW and WWE. The Phenomenal One has won 47 titles across his career and shows no signs of stopping just yet.

While speaking with Sportsmail, AJ Styles went into detail about his time off from in-ring action due to the ankle injury. Reflecting on the break, The Phenomenal One stated that he would be okay after retiring for good.

“I will tell you this. I thought I might go stir-crazy being stuck at home and not being able do to what I wanted to do, which I did a little bit. I wanna go when I wanna go and do what I wanna do and when you’ve got a boot and crutches it just hinders that and it will drive you nuts. That’s what drove me crazy, not being unable to be in a wrestling ring as I thought it would. I enjoyed the time, I enjoyed seeing my kids and my wife as it’s the first time I’ve been out this long in my career. So it kind of put things in perspective, like when retirement does come, I’m going to be ok.”

AJ Styles also has an opponent in mind for his final match. We will have to wait and see whether AJ Styles will be able to defeat Seth Rollins at Night Of Champions on May 27th and become the first-ever WWE World Heavyweight Champion. After all, fans want to see Styles hold a major title at least one more time before he calls it quits.
