WWE is making big plans for the future, and they want to give fans something special to watch this summer. The NXT brand excites fans every week as they display what the developmental brand has to offer, and now they will get another special episode this summer.
In addition to the two scheduled premium live events set to broadcast on Peacock, wrestling fans can anticipate a special episode of WWE NXT television. Although the exact details aren’t official, it is apparently in the pipeline.
The NXT Battleground event, which will go down next Sunday and compete directly with AEW Double or Nothing in Lowell, Massachusetts, is on WWE’s schedule. The highlight of the event will be Carmelo Hayes defending the NXT Championship against Bron Breakker.
As previously indicated, WWE plans to host a developmental brand premium live event on August 12th, though the venue and event name remain undisclosed. There are many possibilities, especially considering all the intellectual property the company owns.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, apart from the two premium live events, WWE intends to air a special Tuesday night episode of the show on the USA Network under The Great American Bash theme. This show is slated to broadcast on July 4th.
WWE revived the classic WCW pay-per-view theme in 2020 for NXT and has since continued to produce annual television specials. This came after years of fans wanting another Bash event.
We will have to see what WWE has in store for fans, but it seems like this will be a very busy summer.
