AEW has seen several talented performers come through the company who also worked for WWE. Some of them had nice runs with Vince McMahon’s company, and another former Superstar is booked for Dynamite next week.
AEW revealed several matches and segments for the upcoming Dynamite, including the debut of two ex-WWE wrestlers. This will be a packed show on the road to Double or Nothing on May 28th.
In the past few months, AR Fox, Gran Metalik, and Blake Christian have formed a team in ROH and AEW, including a notable appearance at ROH Supercard of Honor where they faced off against The Embassy for the World Trios Championship.
Christian had a brief stint with WWE NXT under the name Trey Baxter, before his release in 2021. After his WWE release, he competed in Impact Wrestling, GCW, NJPW, as well as various independent circuits, along with AEW/ROH.
Gran Metalik had a nice run with WWE from 2016 to 2021. He was a staple of the Cruiserweight division, teaming up with Lince Dorado and Kalisto as the Lucha House Party on Raw and SmackDown. After requesting his release, he competed in NJPW, GCW, and Impact, before joining AEW/ROH in September.
The House of Black has been issuing open challenges for the AEW Trios Titles in the recent weeks. The team will put its titles on the line against Fox, Metalik, and Christian. Although Metalik and Christian have competed in Dark and Dark Elevation, their Dynamite appearance will be a first.
