Andrade El Idolo had a lot of expectations when he made his debut back in 2021, but all of that was ultimately squandered after a series of uninspiring booking choices. Following a lengthy hiatus, it was announced that Idolo will be part of the upcoming AEW Collision show. Now it appears his in-ring return status has finally been revealed.
Andrade had suffered an injury and had to undergo surgery after a trios tag team match on House of The Dragon special edition of AEW Dynamite back in August last year. He clearly took time off and used it in a productive manner.
As previously reported, it was officially announced that Andrade El Idolo will be making his return to AEW television as part of AEW Collision. In fact, Idolo genuinely had no idea he was going to be on the show.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was noted that Andrade got surgery for the torn pec in late November. Based on the recovery time, Meltzer noted that Idolo is expected to be ready for Collision’s debut. If not, then within a month after the show’s launch.
”He could be ready by the launch of the show and if not, would be ready within a month or so after the launch.”
AEW Collision will be making its debut on June 17th and fans simply cannot wait for its first show. Now it remains to be seen if Andrade El Idolo will be given a push, whenever he returns to the ring.
