Sami Zayn has been working in WWE for a decade now and when it comes to perfecting storylines – he truly has the Midas touch. This couldn’t have been more apparent than his storyline with The Bloodline. It appears Zayn was confident he was going to headline WrestleMania 39 with Roman Reigns, but it was not to be.
Sami Zayn’s journey with the Bloodline started right after WrestleMania 38, where he tried to get into the faction by any means necessary. Slowly but surely, Zayn won the trust of The Tribal Chief.
The Survivor Series WarGames match helped prove Sami Zayn’s loyalty to The Bloodline. However, that all changed after Zayn ended up betraying Roman Reigns and The Bloodline at the Royal Rumble.
Sami Zayn challenged Roman Reigns for his titles at Elimination Chamber and ended up losing. However, he never got to main event WrestleMania 39 with Roman Reigns. While speaking on the Mark Andrews: My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast, Zayn stated that he was certain he was going to headline WrestleMania 39 with Roman Reigns.
“So, there was a time period going from Survivor Series [2022] and building into the [Royal] Rumble, and especially right before the Rumble. and right after the Rumble, I 100% thought it could go to me and Roman at ‘Mania, and it would be the best story. But, that’s just not (…) that wasn’t in the cards.”
Sami Zayn also revealed when he came to know about main eventing WrestleMania 39. Zayn and Kevin Owens will be defending the Undisputed Tag Team Championships at WWE Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. We’ll have to see how the match will turn out.
