Henry Cejudo is undoubtedly one of the bigger names in the world of combat sports, who was once at the very top of his game in the business. With the advent of UFC stars making their way to pro wrestling, it appears even Henry Cejudo is open to competing in a pro wrestling ring.

Henry Cejudo made his return after three years away at UFC 288 to challenge Aljamain Sterling for the UFC Bantamweight Championship. Unfortunately, he was not able to regain the title that he vacated when he retired in 2020, dropping a split decision.

When Henry Cejudo was at the very top of the bantamweight division, Cejudo became known for his “cringe” moments and turned those moments into the Triple C persona. He even made an appearance on the May 27, 2020 episode of AEW, where he supported Mike Tyson over Chris Jericho.

While speaking to Chamatkar Sandhu, Henry Cejudo was asked about possibly joining WWE or AEW somewhere down the line. Cejudo made it clear that he once nearly signed with WWE and that he is open to having a one-off in WWE or AEW in the future.

“Probably not now. Even in the beginning, before I signed with UFC, we were in talks with WWE. I was going to be The Atomic Flea. I had thought about signing, I had talked to Jerry Brisco at that time. They were going to fly me out to Orlando and do that whole trial stuff. It did intrigue me, but at the same time, I knew that if I’m going to use my body, I might as well fight and do the real stuff. Not saying that the WWE isn’t real, it’s 100% real, but I’m talking competitively. I never wanted to travel like crazy.

I didn’t want to get thrown like Rey Mysterio. I didn’t want my body to break. If I was to do the WWE or AEW, I would like to do a one-off. I don’t see myself doing that stuff for a very long time even though I do believe I could be really good at it. I worked out with Chavo Guerrero. He’s given me lessons. He’s like, ‘Bro, you’re a natural.’ I grew up watching it, did amateur wrestling, and I fought. I understand the acting portion. There are things that come natural to me. Something like the WWE or AEW would be one of them.

Of course, 100%. Now, with the family, that’s number one. Money talks. If they want to do something like that, I’m open for anything.”

Henry Cejudo isn’t the only UFC star who wants to compete in WWE as Israel Adesanya wants to work in Vince McMahon’s company as well. Even Leon Edwards wants to join the company one day. We’ll have to see whether Cejudo will end up joining WWE in the end.
