Seth Rollins has the entire pro wrestling world’s eyes on him right now. He is set to battle for the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia against AJ Styles. Rollins also snagged a part in the new Captain America property, but WWE isn’t worried about losing him.
We previously reported that Seth Rollins was spotted filming on the set of Captain America: New World Order. This was followed by a lot of rumor and innuendo.
We later covered that WRKD Wrestling reported, “while many backstage are very happy for [Seth Rollins], there is hesitancy when it comes to putting the new title on him should these roles continue.” That last part piqued our interest, especially with his World Heavyweight Title match coming at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.
We were told by a tenured member of the creative team that there is no hesitation at all in putting Seth Rollins into “any role being discussed” for him. There is no truth to the report that anyone is hesitant to put any sort of responsibility on Rollins.
We were also told that “WWE is thrilled” about Seth Rollins’ role in the new Captain America project. Also, “anyone who reports that there is any hesitation over Seth because of this role is reporting and promoting FAKE NEWS!”
We will have to see how things pan out at Night of Champions. We will not get into any spoilers here, but the fact is that no creative decision was made based on Seth Rollins’ latest acting role.
