WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler remains cherished by fans as the distinctive voice of an era. Despite no longer being a frequent commentator, he continues to make memorable guest appearances. He worried fans after suffering a stroke earlier this year and it appears Lawler is not out of the woods just yet.
Jerry Lawler’s health challenges have been widely recognized by fans in recent times, including a life-threatening heart attack in 2012 during a Monday Night RAW broadcast, with Michael Cole stepping in to fill his role during his absence.
As previously reported, the beloved pro wrestling legend was rushed to the hospital after suffering a stroke back in February. In fact, Jerry Lawler experienced paralysis right before he suffered the stroke.
Lawler also underwent surgery after being transported to the hospital and was said to make a full recovery soon enough. That said, he underwent another surgery recently as well.
While speaking on the Grilling JR podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross stated that he has constantly been in touch with Jerry Lawler, adding that Lawler is not out of the woods just yet.
“I talked to Lawler just the other day. He’s still struggling with his health. He’s got good doctors and they think they pinpointed a lot of the issues, but he’s not out of the woods yet as far as getting back to a good degree of health. As always when we talk, his voice starts off a little bit weak and then it gets stronger as he talks and we laugh and we tell stories with each other.”
Jerry Lawler made an appearance at the 2023 WWE Hall of Fame during Andy Kaufman’s induction speech. This appearance was via a pre-taped video message that he recorded from his home. We’ll continue to send our best to Jerry Lawler and hopes he makes a full recovery soon enough.
