The announcement was accompanied by artwork featuring notable AEW stars, including MJF, Andrade el Idolo, Miro, Thunder Rosa, FTR, The House of Black, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Samoa Joe. That included Miro, Thunder Rosa, and Andrade, who have not seen any in-ring action in recent memory.

It is worth noting that former AEW Champion CM Punk was absent from the artwork and press release. This made a lot of fans wonder about whether AEW’s plan for his return has changed.

It is expected that CM Punk will make his return at the first-ever Collision taping at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on June 17. That event will be called the Second Coming.

AEW might want to surprise fans with CM Punk’s return, much like they did with his Rampage debut. It was never announced that Punk would debut for the company at the First Dance, but it was widely expected, and reported, that he would be in Chicago for the event, which he was.

It is now expected that AEW Collision will see the company establish a harder roster split. We will have to see what happens in the weeks to come. CM Punk could be a very important attribute to secure viewership for AEW Collision.
