Sami Zayn has been working in WWE for a decade now and has consistently improved himself at every turn. Zayn has also managed to turn every single gimmick into pure gold, including his storyline with The Bloodline. That said, it appears Zayn believes the storyline wouldn’t have been the same with Vince McMahon in charge.
Sami Zayn’s journey with the Bloodline started right after WrestleMania 38, where he had an unfortunate loss to Johnny Knoxville. Disappointed and seeking redemption, Sami Zayn approached Roman Reigns and wanted to earn back the respect of the locker room.
For the next year, Sami Zayn experienced the highs and lows of being a part of the Bloodline. He worked hard to gain their trust and was eventually bestowed with the honor of being an Honorary Uce, a significant title that signaled acceptance and respect from the Samoan wrestling family. Zayn had finally found his footing and felt like he was making progress towards his goals.
However, things didn’t always go smoothly for Sami Zayn as he eventually ended up betraying Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. It culminated in Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens defeating The Usos for the Undisputed Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 39.
All of this took place while Triple H was in charge of WWE Creative. While speaking with Inside The Ropes, Sami Zayn stated that he believes The Bloodline storyline changed with Triple H in charge and that it wouldn’t have been the same had Vince McMahon been in charge of Creative at the time.
”I think so, I think so. For a couple of reasons, but it’s hard to say in retrospect, ‘What if?’ because we just know what did happen. For me, a crucial component of the story was getting on-screen with Roman and the curveball here being is you expect Roman to not like me, but then he does.
Whether it’s coincidental, whether it’s not, whether the trajectory would have been the same or not … I don’t think it would have gone exactly the same any way you cut it, because those are two people with two very different visions. A lot of these great stories we talk about in the past, Vince was in charge. So it’s not to say these compelling stories could not have operated under him, it just probably would have had a different flavor. What that is, I guess we’ll never know.’
Sami Zayn also revealed when he came to know about main eventing WrestleMania 39. Zayn and Kevin Owens will be defending the Undisputed Tag Team Championships at WWE Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia against Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa. We’ll have to see how the match will turn out.
