Sami Zayn On When He Came To Know About Main Eventing WrestleMania 39

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s careers have been intertwined for more than a decade now, which goes back to their days in ROH and PWG together. The two are now the Undisputed Tag Team Champions, which was a very long time coming for the duo. They also ended up main eventing WrestleMania 39 and it appears Zayn finally revealed when he came to know about that fact.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens challenged The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 39. It was truly an emotional bout from start to finish. In the end, Owens and Zayn won the match and became the new champions.

Prior to the match, there was a lot of speculation going around on whether Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens or Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley would end up being the main event for WrestleMania Saturday. Of course, fans know which ended up becoming the main event in the end.

While speaking in a new interview with Sportsmail, Sami Zayn talked about being part of the first-ever tag team match to main event WrestleMania 39. Zayn then revealed when he and Kevin Ownes came to know about their main eventing the Show of Shows.

“I’m cautious here to not pull back the curtain too much. I had caught wind that was going to be the plan a few weeks out. But, for whatever reason, there was still this sort of – as WWE can be – this the card is subject to change mentality. It’s really unsettling. It’s like ‘let’s just commit to this, shall we?’ [laughs].

It was pencilled in as far as I know – and again, I could be wrong because I’m not behind the scenes in those meetings – but as far as I know it was pencilled in for a while, just because the story had so much investment behind it and time behind it. And, it was simply the best story heading into the event. But, there was a little bit of ‘we don’t know what might change’ and this and that. “

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will be defending the Undisputed Tag Team Championships at WWE Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia. They will be challenged by Roman Reignd and Solo Sikoa and it’s sure t be a match worth waiting for.
