WWE has inducted many famous names throughout the pro wrestling world into their Hall of Fame. That being said, not everyone would give such an invitation a warm welcome.
Ken Patera is a pro wrestling legend, but he recently expressed his perspective on a potential induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. It seems that he’s not about receiving such an honor at all.
The WWE Hall of Fame serves as a platform to recognize the remarkable achievements and contributions of pro wrestling icons. Notable figures like Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Ric Flair have been inducted into this esteemed group. However, Ken Patera has expressed his disinterest in being included in the WWE Hall of Fame.
While speaking to Wrestling Epicenter, Ken Patera explained why the WWE Hall of Fame doesn’t mean much to him. In fact, he would reject an invitation with a big-time profanity.
“You said I was in the WWE Hall of Fame. I never said that. I’m actually not in there. Do I want to be in there? F*ck no! Vince McMahon put that whole thing together. It doesn’t even have a building. Everyone knows who I am and what I’ve done. But, for him [Vince McMahon] to create a Hall of Fame and go, ‘Look what I created! Like what I did!’ [laughs] It doesn’t matter to me.”
We’ll have to see if Ken Patera ever changes his mind about receiving a WWE Hall of Fame invitation. After all, this rejection from Patera could just be a way to excuse why he was never called for an induction. Only time will tell what the future holds, because WWE has been known to induct people into the legacy wing without having them actually show up.
The WWE Hall of Fame was a much smaller class this year, which was a departure from Vince McMahon’s previous classes that were loaded with names. Perhaps this means that WWE will be a bit more selective about who they induct, and that might also help cool down some of Ken Patera’s issues.
What’s your take on Ken Patera? Does he even deserve a WWE Hall of Fame induction in the first place? Sound off in the comments!
