Jungle Boy is currently one of the mainstays on AEW television, whose stock only continues to rise as time passed. He is considered one of the Four Pillars of AEW, but fans feel there is a lot of potential in him that he still hasn’t reached. That said, it appears Jungle Boy hit back at claims that he runs away from promos.

Jungle Boy made his way to AEW as one of its first signees back in 2019 and wasted no time establishing himself as a proper star thanks to his pairing with Luchasaurus as part of The Jurassic Express.

Jack Perry is now a bonafide singles star and while many fans appreciate his technical skills inside the squared circle, they have criticized him for his promo work. Some have even claimed he runs away from promos.

While speaking with Simon Miller of WhatCulture, Jungle Boy hit back at claims that he runs away from promos when asked to do them. That said, the AEW star admitted that cutting promos are not his favorite thing to do.

”Yeah, with the promo thing, I didn’t really think about that on the indies. All I really wanted to do is wrestling. When I was a kid, I wanted to wrestle and do cool stuff. I feel like I’ve got that down. For the most part, I feel pretty competent. I could go in there with anyone in the world and throw down. The promos, I got a lot of flack in the beginning when I said I want to run away when they make me do it. People thought that was a literal thing. It’s an expression.

“It’s not my favorite thing to do. I’m never going to be like MJF and show up and request 30 minutes to go out there and blabber on. That being said, I don’t really care anymore. I’d like to improve a little every time as I go. It is what it is. It’s got to be done. I’m not that worried about it, and I’m feeling more comfortable all the time.”

Jungle Boy also admitted that he still throws up backstage before most of his AEW appearances. He is set to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship alongside Darby Allin and Sammy Guevara at AEW Double Or Nothing this month. We’ll have to see how the match will turn out.
