Johnny Gargano was regarded as the quintessential embodiment of NXT, due to his outstanding rivalries with opponents such as Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole, and others. After returning to the company, Gargano had a brief feud with The Miz and then Grayson Waller on NXT. He was then out of action due to a shoulder injury, but it appears Gargano has been cleared for in-ring competition again.

Fans last saw Johnny Gargano take on Grayson Waller at NXT Stand & Deliver. Gargano beat Waller during that match, but he had been absent from WWE television since then.

As previously reported, Johny Wrestling was suffering from a shoulder injury, one that he re-aggravated. Of course, Gargano return to WWE television on last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW but didn’t compete.

Thankfully, Johnny Gargano has been cleared for in-ring competition as he challenged Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at the WWE house show in Augusta, Georgia. Naturally, Gargano lost but it was great for fans to see that he can compete again.

On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, there will be a battle royal to determine Gunther’s next challenger on TV. It is likely WWE had the two compete in a house match before RAW so that they could get used to each other before they feud after Gargano wins the battle royal. We’ll have to see what WWWE has planned for Johnny Gargano.
