John Cena has worked hard to become one of the biggest names in professional wrestling, as he carried WWE on his back from 2006 to 2016. He is now a part-timer, having a busy schedule in Hollywood. He is also set to return to the ‘Fast & Furious’ series and it appears that John Cena decided to hit back at the critics who don’t want to see another film in the franchise.

John Cena has always made sure to give it his best no matter what role he is given and his Hollywood accolades as of late speak for themselves. This includes his roles in films such as ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Peacemaker,’ among others.

The Leader of Cenation is also set to reprise his role as Jakob Toretto, the brother of Dominic Toretto in the upcoming ‘ Fast X,’ which is the latest installment in the long-running ‘Fast & Furious’ movies.

That said, not many people are happy to see the franchise still going strong. While speaking with Megan Ryte for Extra, John Cena was asked to describe how he responds when someone says, “We don’t need another ‘Fast’ film. Cena decided to hit back at those critics who don’t want to see another film in the franchise.

“Having just performed at the 39th installment of WrestleMania, my philosophy is, ‘as long as it’s good, that’s all that matters.’ ‘Fast’, continuously, and box office backs data it up, continuously entertains the world installation after installation. Anyone who says, ‘Do we really need another one?’ I compare it to a fan who says, ‘Isn’t wrestling fake?’ They just don’t understand what we do and they just don’t understand what this is about. As long as the movies are exceptional, which this one might be my favorite of all-time, and I go deep into the ‘Fast’ library. This is a great ride and I think people are going to get out of the theater and want to see another one. If someone makes that comment, which they’re entitled to, I just don’t think they understand what we do.”

“Fast X” will hit theaters on May 19 and is certain to be a major hit with fans. As for John Cena himself, he will also star in Greta Gerwig’s highly anticipated film ‘Barbie,’ where he will be portraying the role of a mermaid. We’ll have to see how both films will turn out.

What’s your take on the new ‘Fast’ movie? Are you excited to see it in theaters? Sound off in the comments!
