MJF has enjoyed a nice paycheck from AEW since he inked a deal with Tony Khan’s company. That provided him with enough money that he didn’t need to wrestle indie dates, so he hasn’t needed to. That changed tonight as MJF returned to his roots.

Create-A-Pro wrestling is MJF’s home, and he hasn’t forgotten about that at all. In fact, the Salt of the Earth recently gave fans at Create-A-Pro one incredible surprise.

AEW World Champion MJF surprised the audience at Create-A-Pro’s Homecoming show by stepping into the ring for his first independent wrestling match in years.

Leo Sparrow, known as The Son of the Sun, started trash-talking the fans in attendance, only to be interrupted by MJF’s entrance music. This is when MJF grabbed the microphone to share his thoughts and initiated an impromptu match with Sparrow.

During his post-match promo, MJF expressed gratitude towards Brian Myers and Pat Buck, acknowledging their roles in his wrestling journey. MJF considered Create-A-Pro as the place where it all started for him.

For those curious about Leo Sparrow, it’s worth keeping an eye on him. He has great potential and may make his presence felt in a major wrestling promotion within the next couple of years.

We will have to see how MJF does in a 4-pillars 4-way match at Double or Nothing on May 28th, but he was certainly in rare form at Create-A-Pro.
