WWE brought their SmackDown show to Knoxville, Tennessee this week, and they had a lot to show fans. Bianca Belair is the hometown hero, but even her segment was a footnote compared to the World Heavyweight Championship tournament that took over a majority of the night.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE reported another record number this week for SmackDown. It was reported that WWE’s SmackDown in Knoxville was the highest grossing WWE event in the history of all their trips to that historic market.

WWE is breaking a lot of their own records at this point, and a lot of things play into it. Not only are tickets pricier now, but WWE is also experiencing a boom in popularity.
The company is likely to change in a big way once Endeavor merges the company with the UFC. Only time will tell if it also translates to even bigger gates for a long time to come.
