Joey Janela was once known as AEW’s resident bad boy. Now he has taken his talents to GCW, where he is working to elevate the indie wrestling promotion to new heights. That being said, it appears even Janela plans on joining WWE eventually.
Joey Janela has slowly become a major name on social media, mostly due to all the antics he has been pulling off there as of late. This includes a recent post about him enjoying a glory hole.
Even then, Joey Janela is a professional wrestler first and foremost and that is what truly matters to him right now. Janela is currently one of the mainstays of GCW and slowly built a reputation of being an extreme pro wrestler there.
While speaking to Hause Of Wrestling, Joey Janela talked about the likelihood of him signing with WWE. The former AEW star made it clear that he wants to sign with Vince McMahon’s company when he is 36.
“I have goals right now, and one of them is the WWE,” he stated. “I’ve talked to people about it, and stuff, but not now, not anytime soon. I’m still 33. I’ve always said over the last five years, I can see myself signing to WWE when I’m 36. I don’t know why. 36? I don’t know. But I still have goals in Japan. I have goals. I’m having fun.
I don’t have to deal with any politics. I don’t have to deal with people giving me shit for what I say on the internet. So, we’ll see, but WWE is always the goal. If WWE is not the goal for you, and you’re in the wrestling business, I don’t know what’s wrong with you because the dream is to wrestle at WrestleMania, and it should be the dream for everyone.”
Joey Janela also called out Paul Heyman for giving Dillon Danis the rub. Regardless, we will have to wait and see whether WWE will end up signing Joey Janela within the next three years.
