AEW is setting the stage for CM Punk’s return to the company, and he will land on the company’s new Saturday television show, Collision. There are a lot of things in store for CM Punk, even a possible feud with Samoa Joe in the pipeline. AEW knows that fans are going to watch CM Punk’s return, so they are going to make a special deal out of it.
We previously reported that CM Punk returning to AEW was not a dealbreaker for the company’s new Saturday show. In fact, they were going to hold Collision anyway, but Punk’s return will give them something special to focus on.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that CM Punk’s big return to AEW programming looks like it will go down on June 17th. The episode, believed to be in Chicago’s United Center, will also have a very interesting name.
With that show will come a new deal with WBD, the announcement of the 6/17 debut date, believed to be at the United Center in Chicago, and the return of C.M. Punk on a show called “The Second Coming.”
We will have to see how the Second City Savior’s Second Coming plays out. Obviously, CM Punk will have the entire pro wrestling world on him once again. Hopefully, things go a bit better for him this time around.
AEW is making a big decision to bring back CM Punk. This call could be a big winner for them, or it could also blow up in their faces. Only time will tell how it all comes out in the wash.
What’s your take on AEW bringing back CM Punk? Is this a big mistake on Tony Khan’s part? Sound off in the comments!
