Trish Stratus Reveals The Rock’s Advice to Become ‘The Female Rock’

WWE fans are enjoying another run for Trish Stratus right now, and she is a hated heel with some major heat. In fact, she might have done too good of a job in getting fans to hate her. She’s been around for a long time and soaked up every ounce of knowledge she could about the pro wrestling business, even relying on The Rock for advice.

Trish Stratus made her debut during the Attitude Era and quickly became a standout talent, working alongside some of the biggest names in the industry. She went on to have a highly successful career, capturing the Women’s Championship an impressive seven times and earning a place in the WWE Hall of Fame.

During a recent episode of the Out of Character podcast, Trish Stratus discussed receiving career guidance from none other than The Rock. It seems that The Great One had something very influential to say.

Trish remembered asking for advice from The Rock during the early days of her career. She obviously wanted to follow the same path The People’s Champion paved.

“For sure, the Rock was someone who was very generous, offering me so much help. He took me aside one time and said, ‘You could be the female Rock.’ I was like, ‘Yeah that sounds good. Yes, I want to do that.’ He just meant that you could go out there and you could entertain. He had that perfect balance. It’s the same thing while I grew up, Macho Man was my guy. He had that perfect balance of character and athlete. Just a perfect balance and I feel like that’s what the Rock offered and I wanted to do that as well.” 

The Rock and Trish Stratus have both influenced generations after them to become WWE Superstars. It’s interesting to see how the current generation pays tribute to them in so many ways.

While Trish is an active part-time WWE Superstar right now, The Rock isn’t taking bumps anymore. The Great One is making one blockbuster after another with Seven Bucks Productions, but you can never say never about him agreeing to have another match down the line.
