Triple H announced that a new World Heavyweight Title Belt is coming to the company the week before this year’s WWE Draft. Then it was determined that the RAW brand will get that new title belt, since Roman Reigns was drafted to SmackDown. Now, we know who will compete for that title.

The Backlash press conference was a lively event, and it was also newsworthy. Triple H announced that there will be two triple threat matches on RAW with the winners taking each other on at the end of the night to determine who will represent RAW. The same thing will happen on SmackDown.

Those two winners from RAW and SmackDown will then go on to battle at Night Of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27th to determine a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

It turns out that this announcement from Triple H was a huge shock to everyone in WWE. Apparently, he didn’t clue anyone in on those plans.

WWE announced via their social media that 12 Superstars will compete for the new World Heavyweight Title. Those Superstars from RAW and SmackDown make up the top names on the active roster.

AJ Styles, Cody Rhodes, Bobby Lashley, Shinsuke Nakamura, The Miz, Sheamus, Austin Theory, Damian Priest, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Seth Rollins, and Finn Balor were all shown in the video. That will make up the field of 12.

We will have to see who pulls down the big win at Night of Champions. Obviously, anything can happen in WWE at this point. For more on this, and every other story in the pro wrestling world, stay tuned with us at Ringside News.
