WWE Superstars all get over for different reasons. That being said, any little thing can also be the cause of someone’s downfall in the company. It seems that even getting your hair worked on can be enough to hurt a career.
Kurt Angle has seen a lot in pro wrestling. He also went through a big hair change in WWE, as he went from a short-haired look to a totally bald head. That change seemed to work out well for Angle in the end, but it’s not that way for everyone.
During a recent episode of the Kurt Angle Podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about one career that was ruined by getting hair transplants. Shawn Stasiak was going through a bit of a hair crisis, so he had a procedure that a lot of men have. That didn’t turn out the best for him in the end.
“I want to tell you a story about Shawn. This also affected his career, and I hate to say this, but I have to let the cat out of the bag. Shawn was losing his hair just like I was. He decided to get a hair replacement surgery and it was a week before he was called up. He called the WWE and said, ‘Hey, I can’t be called up right now. I’m getting my hair done’, and they’re like, ‘Oh, okay. All right. We’ll take care of you then.'”
Angle continued to say that, “He didn’t lose his confidence because of that, but I think that painted him in a corner where, okay, this guy’s not going to be a team player. They were like, ‘We want you to debut right now’, and he’s like, ‘I can’t. I have to wait about two months.’ I was like, ‘Okay, you can wait two months. Let’s see what happens then.’ When I look at it, I just wonder if that might have affected his career a little bit. I don’t know.”
A WWE career can be a fragile thing. It seems that something as simple as a hair transplant procedure, despite the fact that it might have been done to help their careers, can actually go on to do a lot of damage.
