Strong is no stranger to independent wrestling, having competed for various promotions such as Ring of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, and Full Impact Pro before signing with WWE in 2016.
Strong is a former ROH World Champion, PWG World Champion, FIP World Heavyweight Champion, and NXT North American Champion, among many other accolades. He is also known for his innovative and devastating backbreaker variations, earning him the nickname “The Messiah of the Backbreaker”.
After spending several years with WWE, Strong parted ways with the company in November 2022 and recently made his AEW debut on the April 26 episode of Dynamite. Strong even wrestled his first match for the company on the May 3 episode of Dynamite. It now looks like Strong is ready to return to independent wrestling.
Prestige Wrestling announced on Twitter that Roderick Strong will be part of their Black Sunshine event which will be held at The Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, California on June 18.
